”Claire’s Camera” to enjoy plea

Four films have been continuously screened starting with “And Then.” The final one is ”Claire’s Camera” with Isabelle Huppert. This film was taken in a blink of an eye in Cannes. Kim Min-hee, of course, also appeared, creating a world unique to Hong Sang-Soo. Is there "newness" there?

”Claire’s Camera”

Hong Sang-Soo’s film has playability. ”And Then” is a new development that transcends playfulness, and ”Claire’s Camera” brinks pushing the playability to the limit. Even though it is a brink, it’s graceful. The rules spun here are fresh and vivid everywhere.

Isabelle Hubert of '"In Another Country" appeared again and shot during the Cannes Film Festival. I wonder if this situation brought the sparkling taste. It is finished most lightly of the Hong Sang-Soo’s works released continuously this time.

Hubert acts as a self-called music teacher, but if she shoots someone with her camera, that person becomes a different person. This music teacher scratches the triangular relationship among a Korean film director, a female president of a film company, who is his public and private partner, and apparently a young female employee of a movie company whose director seems to have played.

”Claire’s Camera”

A strange feeling felt also in the parallel world oriented ”On the Beach at Night Alone” and remarkable in ”Right Now, Wrong Then” is organically connected in this work. By mixing Hon Sang Soo's good skills and arranging it in a small world called the Film Festival, a strange fantasy was born after people stared observations. Come to think of it, the arrangement of one man and three women is the same as “And Then”. The impression is totally different, but in a sense, this may be a light lesson for “And Then”.

Kim Min-hee plays a woman who can be called a victim here. The positioning is splendidly different for each of the four works. The number of variations is a glimpse of the "drawer" which the movie writer Hong Sang-Soo takes.

It is absurd that the work depicts. Still the degree to enjoy absurdity is tried, and also trained. A dog is another key item together with the camera. How you capture this dog will change the taste of the movie.
